Emeritus Professor Paul Monsour graduated from the University of Queensland in 1978 with a BDSc (Hons). He completed a PhD in Oral Biology in 1987 and a Masters degree in Oral Radiology & Pathology in 1991. Prof Monsour was the first registered specialist in Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology (DMFR) working full time in private radiology practice on the East Coast of Australia.
Professor Monsour lectures extensively throughout Australia on all aspects of DMF radiology. He was appointed the foundation Professor of DMFR at the University of Queensland in 2009. Prof Monsour developed the first and only specialist training programme in Australia for Dento-Maxillofacial radiologists. His research interests include education in the field of DMF radiology, radiation protection in dentistry and the use of cone beam imaging in dentistry. He is an associate member of the RANZCR, a member of the Radiation Advisory Council of Queensland and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Professor Monsour joined the Queensland X-Ray team in 2017.
