Paediatric imaging covers children up to the age of 16 years. Generally, imaging for children can be undertaken at any Queensland X-Ray location. Within all of our practices, we provide a selection of toys to keep young children entertained while waiting for their appointment.
We have a dedicated paediatric sonographer in Brisbane who works between our Logan Road and Upper Mount Gravatt practices and is familiar with the time and patience required to perform these specialised studies.
At Queensland X-Ray we utilise low-dose radiation software on all of our equipment.
You can read about radiation dose here.
Your referring health practitioner will most likely have discussed with you that while there is a minute exposure to radiation for many of our scans, the benefits outweigh the risks. If you’re concerned, you can read more about radiation dose and our technical staff are more than happy to talk through other imaging options.
Imaging our youngest patients sometimes takes more time. We’ll factor this into your appointment at the time of booking. However, if your child has had previous imaging and you think we should make a note of their experience, please let our reception staff know.
How much will it cost?
Fees for radiology procedures will vary depending on a variety of factors. We will advise you about the cost of your service at the time of booking but if you do have any questions, contact us and one of our team will be happy to help with your query. You can read more about our billing information here.
How do I access my images?
At Queensland X-Ray, we provide our patients with their images and results online. To access your images and results, you’ll need to register for an account when you visit one of our practices. If you’ve already registered, you can access the Patient Portal here.
