About
Dr Yamal Dassanayake graduated with his MBBS and an academic medal from James Cook University in 2012.
He continued studying in Advanced Surgical Anatomy and in 2014 achieved a high distinction from University of Queensland.
Dr Dassanayake undertook his Radiology registrar training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital between 2015-2019 and joined Queensland X-Ray in 2020 working initially in Brisbane to complete a six month Fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Women’s Imaging before moving to Cairns as a Consultant Radiologist in February 2021.
