Queensland X-Ray is proud to be supporting Allan Jefferson in the 2024 Race Across America (RAAM). Allan competed in and was the overall winner of the 2022 RAAM – an impressive feat!
RAAM, by definition is the world’s toughest bike race, requiring solo competitors to race from Oceanside, California on the west coast, nearly 5,000km to Annapolis, Maryland on the east coast. The race route traverses all four of the major continental mountain ranges and has in excess of 155,000 feet of climbing. Solo riders have a maximum of 12 days to finish the race, with Allan completing the 2022 race in 9 days, 23 hours, 20 minutes to secure ‘1st overall’, ‘1st male’, ‘1st age group (50 – 59)’ as well as the fastest finisher representing emergency services. Allan was also the first rider in the race’s 40-year history to win overall from the 50 – 59 age category.
Allan is raising funds for not-for-profit organisation ‘Selectability’ to promote good mental health for emergency and frontline workers. Selectability runs bike sheds where people can connect, work on projects, join in group bike rides and improve their mental wellbeing.
