Attending your appointment

  • Most medical imaging appointments require a referral from your doctor or treating healthcare provider. If you are attending for a walk-in X-ray, you do not need to make an appointment, but you still need to bring a valid referral.

    Please bring:

    • Your referral
    • Your Medicare card
    • Your concession card, if applicable
    • Any relevant previous imaging or reports
    • Private health insurance details, if applicable

Some scans require special preparation, such as fasting, drinking water or avoiding certain medication. Our team will let you know about any preparation requirements when your appointment is booked. When you arrive, our reception staff will confirm your details.

  • Queensland X-Ray provides patients with access to their images and results online through the Patient Portal. You will need to register for an account when you visit one of our practices. If you have already registered, you can access the Patient Portal online. Your referring doctor or practitioner will receive your report once it has been reviewed by a radiologist.

  • Queensland X-Ray is a private billing practice. If you are an outpatient, payment is required in full on the day of your appointment. Fees can vary depending on the type of scan, the practice you attend and your Medicare or private health insurance eligibility.

Bulk billing is available for several services for patients who hold a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card. Some services and interventional procedures may attract out-of-pocket costs, also known as a gap. Queensland X-Ray is unable to accept the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.
