As we recognise NAIDOC Week, Queensland X-Ray is proud to introduce “The Spirit of Queensland X-Ray”, a culturally significant and visually captivating First Nations artwork, now available across our practice network.
Created in collaboration with Queensland X-Ray by First Nations artist, illustrator and graphic designer, Danielle Leedie Gray, the piece reflects the organisations core values through a visual narrative that highlights themes of healing, community, and interconnectedness.
The artwork centres around the Rainbow Serpent, an intricate pattern symbolising the land’s creation, spiritual energy, and collective well-being. As it weaves seamlessly between each value, represented as waterholes, their art piece celebrates the harmonious relationship between land, community, and professional excellence.
Each element within the artwork carries meaning that underpins each of our core values:
Commit to Service Excellence is illustrated through lines symbolising clarity, flow and high standards.
Treat Each Other with Respect and Honesty appears as a water pattern that reflects continuous, respectful flow, symbolising integrity, trust, and harmonious connections.
Demonstrate Responsibility and Accountability is depicted by arrows, representing direction and ownership.
Be Enthusiastic and Continuous Improvement is symbolised by expressive, wavy lines, indicating ongoing growth, energy and progress.
Maintain Confidentiality is shown through a pattern of varying thick and thin lines that encircle the waterholes, representing the careful safeguarding of information.
Symbols of individuals and community are woven into the landscape, underscoring the importance of human connection and collective strength. The background is filled with dot work representing the regions where Queensland X-Ray operates, Mackay, Toowoomba, Cairns, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Townsville.
This piece will be progressively introduced across Queensland X-Ray locations, creating a consistent and meaningful visual identity that reflects both our values and our respect for First Nations Culture.
