In 2025, Queensland X-Ray continues its longstanding commitment to regional cancer care by reaffirming its support for the Toowoomba-based charity Blush Cancer Care Inc. with an annual $25,000 donation. This funding plays a pivotal role in delivering the Fight Back with Fitness program — a specialised exercise and wellbeing initiative designed to support women recovering from breast cancer treatment.
Developed in collaboration with allied health experts from The Fit Lab and overseen by Blush Cancer Care, Fight Back with Fitness offers a holistic pathway for post-treatment recovery. The program includes tailored exercise plans delivered by accredited Exercise Physiologists, as well as complimentary DEXA Body Composition Scans for participants, made possible through Queensland X-Ray’s community fund donation program.
Queensland X-Ray’s Marketing and Referrer Liaison team recently visited Blush to present the 2025 donation to Chair of Blush Breast Cancer, Dr Sharyn Donaldson, and her dedicated team. Dr Donaldson expressed deep appreciation for the continued partnership, noting its profound impact on the lives of women navigating breast cancer recovery across the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region.
The collaboration between Queensland X-Ray and Blush Cancer Care now spans over seven years, with the $25,000 annual pledge supporting essential components of recovery that are often underfunded or overlooked. Research from Edith Cowan University continues to reinforce the benefits of exercise in improving outcomes and reducing recurrence rates for breast cancer survivors, making the Fight Back with Fitness program not just supportive — but potentially lifesaving.
Queensland X-Ray remains proud to contribute to the continuum of care in the region, strengthening its role in both early detection and long-term survivorship.
