High-res 3D dental imaging with low radiation exposure.
A Cone Beam is a new type of dental 3D imaging which provides high resolution scans with low radiation exposure. Patients are seated in the scanner while the machine performs a single rotation around their head in 10-15 seconds. The data is then reconstructed into a 3D image using specialised software. These images allow dentists or doctors to view your teeth and facial bones quickly and easily in any plane, which allows them to make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe the most appropriate treatment.
Cone beam imaging is useful to assess impacted and extra teeth, plan dental implants, review dental pathology and trauma, and assess TM joint arthritis. It can also be used in endodontics (root-canal treatment) and orthodontics.
