Queensland X-Ray performs Bulk Billed MRI for PIP Breast Implants

New Medicare rebates for breast MRI for the assessment of Poly Implant Protheses (PIP) breast implants are effective from 12 March 2012.

Under the terms of the Medicare criteria:

• These studies can be performed at sites which do not have an MRI license as long as they have a dedicated breast coil.

• These studies can be referred by a GP and still attract the rebate.

Queensland X-Ray has been performing and reporting Breast MRI for over 10 years and all studies are reviewed by one of our highly experienced Women’s Imaging radiologists.
