Queensland X-Ray has established criteria sheets for easy reference to establish if a patient is eligible for a Medicare rebate. Criteria sheets are available for the following procedures:
Queensland X-Ray has a variety pf referral forms relating to different areas of specialisation.
In accordance with guildlines from the Health Insurance Commission (HIC), certain restrictions exist as to the type of procedure a physician can refer.
General Referrals
Medical Practitioners are able to refer patients for Plain X-Ray, Screening (Barium Studies, IVP), CT Scan, Ultrasound, Duplex Ultrasound (Arterial, Venous DVT, Venous Incompetence), Additional Vascular Lab Tests (eg. Treadmill, Cold Stress), Echocardiography, Diagnostic Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, Screening Mammography, Angiography (Digital and Conventional), Nuclear Medicine, Bone Densitometry, OPG & Lateral Cephalometry and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
