Inpatient Fees for Service
If you should require any services by Cairns Diagnostic Imaging during your stay in hospital you will receive a separate account from Cairns Diagnostic Imaging. Cairns Diagnostic Imaging is a separate entity to the Cairns Private Hospital. If you do not have a Pension Card or Veterans Affairs Gold Card there will be a gap payment that you will need to pay to Cairns Diagnostic Imaging.
For your convenience, Cairns Diagnostic Imaging renders a weekly account that will itemise the examinations that you have had in the preceding week. You will be able to claim reimbursement through Medicare and your private health insurance. We have a policy whereby we do not charge more than a $1000 gap over and above the combined Health Fund and Medicare Rebate on our weekly account.
If imaging is performed outside normal practice hours, an additional charge may be incurred which is not claimable on Medicare or your private health insurance (excluding MBF members).
If you are a member of MBF, there will be no out of pocket expenses.
If you are undergoing an interventional procedure you may incur an additional fee (excluding MBF members).
