Radiologists

Successful completion of a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology or equivalent. Registration with the Medical Board of Queensland as a Specialist Radiologist. Recognition by the Health Insurance Commission as a specialist.

Duties include provision of the full spectrum of diagnostic imaging services including interventional techniques. Areas of special interest or expertise are welcomed.
 

Radiographers

Successful completion of a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging Technology) or equivalent.

Main functions are to provide an efficient and high quality diagnostic imaging service for patients referred by medical practitioners, develop and collate films and ensure equipment is operated at maximum safety levels.


Sonographers

Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree in Applied Science, with post graduate studies in the area of Medical Ultrasound such as the completion of a Diploma of Medical Ultrasound through the Australian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM), the Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound through QUT or equivalent.

Main functions are to provide an efficient and high quality diagnostic imaging service, with a strong emphasis on ultrasound procedures, develop and collate films and ensure equipment is operated at maximum safety levels.


Nuclear Medicine Technologists

Successful completion of Bachelor of Applied Science, Medical Radiation Technology (Nuclear Medicine) or equivalent.

Main functions as a Technologist are to provide a high standard of professional competence to perform nuclear medicine procedures and produce high quality diagnostic images following the ANZSNM code of practice. Further duties include ensuring radiation and workplace safety, quality control and assurance.

Nurses

Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree in nursing or equivalent. Needs to be licensed under the Queensland Nursing Council. Main functions are to provide nursing support to radiologists, ensuring comfort, safety and well-being of patients. 


Medical Typists/Receptionists

Main functions are to provide efficient and courteous patient reception, medical typing and office management service that will complement the diagnostic imaging service.

Duties include providing an instant reports typing service on patient examinations, preparing and providing accounts to patients, making patient appointments and other general office duties as required.
