AEIOU Foundation
AEIOU Foundation is dedicated to providing a professional, full-time, early intervention and learning program of the highest quality for children aged two to six who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASDS), as well as funding critical research.
AEIOU has recently opened its first custom designed education centre at Griffith University (Nathan).
AEIOU CEO, Mr Alan Smith said AEIOU’s collaboration with Griffith University meant the centre was able to undertake research and build its knowledge of autism.
“Early intervention and ongoing family support can make a huge difference to each child's quality of life, making it easier for them to attend school and participate in everyday activities”, Mr Smith said.
The centre is staffed by trained child care facilitators and will offer programs run by speech pathologists, psychologists, occupational therapists and other professionals experienced in dealing with autism.
As doctors operating the largest private radiology group in the state, Queensland X-Ray staff see the impact illness and disease can have on people’s lives.
By getting behind AEIOU, Queensland X-Ray is hoping to help break new ground in an area where there is a serious lack of funding and awareness.
And Queensland X-Ray believes the results speak for themselves.
Knowing that our small investment of $25,000 a year will enable savings of over $1 million dollars in a lifetime is pretty amazing.
But realising that our support will open the door for two children a year to undergo a program which will potentially change their lives is what it’s really all about.
